Casting Her Vote
The day after the Nov. 4, 2008 election, 86-year-old Mary Mills was still proudly wearing her "I voted today" sticker.

That's because Mary, a patient at MaineGeneral Medical Center's Augusta Campus on election day, almost didn't make it to the polls.

Thanks to the effects of nurse manager Gina LaVerdiere, RN, Mary was able to cast her ballot.

  • Children, ages six months to four years
  • Pregnant women
  • People 50 years of age and older
  • People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions
  • People who live in nursing homes and other long term care facilities

Cony Rotary Work
Through mid-November motorists should use alternate routes when possible to minimize congestion on or near the Cony Rotary.

Ongoing construction will result in the widening of the Cony Rotary and the roads leading to it including new curbing and traffic signals.
