BMC Cited for Quality by Harvard Pilgrim
For the second year in a row, Berkshire Medical Center has been named to the Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Hospital Honor Roll. The Harvard Pilgrim Hospital Honor Roll names those hospitals whose performance is among the top 25% of hospitals measured nationally on a set of composite quality metrics. The quality metrics are based on Hospital Quality Alliance measures, as reported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid on Hospital Compare, and Leapfrog patient safety measures.
It's Time to Quit: Join the Great American Smokeout
Every year, smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout® by smoking less or quitting for the day on the third Thursday of November. The event challenges people to stop using tobacco and raises awareness of the many effective ways to quit for good. Research shows that smokers are most successful in kicking the habit when they have some means of support, such as nicotine replacement products, counseling, prescription medicine to lessen cravings, guide books, and the encouragement of friends and family members. Berkshire Health Systems has smoking cessation programs in Central and Southern Berkshire, at Berkshire Medical Center and Fairview Hospital, providing the help you need to quit smoking.
